Atheism has bet the farm on two horses: 1) Darwin was right, and 2) Genesis was wrong. Hence the biologists have become the high priests of Atheism, and Judeo-Christian “fundamentalists” have become the pariah of the secular-democratic state.
The theologians of the last century threw in the towel (against the clear warning of Charles Hodge at Princeton), and what they’ve reaped in return is utter marginalization and disrespect.

One of the legacies of the Church of God is a sense of the elasticity of Scripture. We always saw patterns and dualities, types and antitypes, former and latter (and in betweens). Our approach, if you will, was rabbinical: we had a feel for principle and law and multiple applications thereof, and like the rabbis we didn't much believe in coincidence--we looked for the hand of God, and ours was no abstract god removed from time and space and history and current events.
